Free stuff at Macy's and Nordstrom counters

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

After hearing the news about certain high end companies giving away free stuff to settle a long dispute for fixed prices, I decided to see if it was even possible to get free stuff today, which is the first day they'll be doing this (i think it'll end in 7 days). I went to one of my local mall and bee lined to Macy's. I was walking around the counters and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. It was the usual sight: several people talking to the sales associate about a product. I was expecting large lines crowding the counters, but nope. Then my boyfriend and I walked towards the exit and there we have it, the long LOOONG line that I was expecting. The line was so long that I just decided to forget about it. I know I shouldn't of given up so easily... c'mon, 20 bucks worth of free goodies, but it looks like the line was only for ONE item. Since the line was so long, I just didn't see it being worth it to wait. I may go earlier tomorrow to see if I can snatch up something.

Anyways, since my boyfriend and I were at the mall anyways, we decided to see if we can find any deals. It looked like many stores are trying to get rid of their winter selection with sales, but not many things seemed to grab me and my boyfriend's attention. I did get a jacket at Forever 21 and he got a button up shirt at Anchor Blue.

I also went to Claire's (haven't shopped there for years) for some hair accessories since I have none and I think it really helps make an ordinary hair style look much more chic. It was buy one get one half off and I ended up spending about 5 bucks on them, and they're much cuter and cheaper than stuff at drugstores... well some of them are.

Such a cute hair clip. I've been trying to find something as cute as this at drugstores, but nothing really caught my eye. I'm glad I found something I like at Claire's.

I also got some stuff at Diaso, too. Can't leave the mall without visiting Diaso first. I know their stuff isn't the best quality, but it's cheap and Japanese stuff is so much cuter than American stuff sometimes. And most of the time, Japanese products are designed much better. Even my boyfriend loves this store. His words were "I hate this store... so many cool things I want to buy".

I got another vacuum pump for my creams and such. I don't know what to use it for yet, but since it's such a nifty travel dispenser, I decided to buy another one. This one holds 30 ml. I used the smaller one for my Merlot Grape Seed Moisturizer. I also got some fake eye lashes, and a fiber mascara base. I wish I can read Japanese. If I can, I'd probably buy more stuff.

And here's a pic of what I made for breakfast. Looking at it makes me hungry again lol.
